Even though we have seen/heard of his plays, we still known very little about his life. The only information we have (his plays, poems, sonnets, church records and court records)give us only a brief sketch of his life.
William Shakespeare was baptized at Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon on April 26, 1564. From this, it is believed he was born on or near April 23, 1564.
Shakespeare's father, John was a glove maker and general trader who owned his own business. His mother, Mary, was the daughter of a rich local farmer, Robert Aden. John Shakespeare married Mary Aden in 1557. William was their third child. They had two older girls who died of unknown causes as young infants. Shakespeare survived even though there was an outbreak of the plague that year. William was followed by three brothers and two sisters, Gilbert, Richard, Edmund, Joan and Anne.
William went to the local grammar school, King's New School, until he was about 14 years old. He left school to help with his father's business
He married a maiden named Anne Hathaway on November 28, 1582 in Worcester. William was 18 and Anne was 26 and it turns out she was pregnant when they got married. They had a daughter, Susanna and then twins, Hamnet and Judith.
About 1594 he was an important member of the Lord Chamberlin's Men company of theatrical plays.
There is little history of where he went with his career. All we know is that over the course of 20 years, Shakespeare wrote plays that capture the complete range of human emotion and conflict. Shakespeare is known throughout the world for his marvellous plays. His plays have been played in countless settlementas, villiages, capital and capitals for more than 400 years.
